Fernando Aponte Monroy

Fernando Aponte Monroy was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where he also attends the
University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. He originally entered the university under the chemical
engineering major but a year after he developed a greater interest in chemistry and changed
his major. He is pursuing a major in chemistry with a biochemistry certification. His long-term
goal is to get a PhD degree and have a career involved in clinical trials. In his personal time, he
enjoys playing video games, card games, and reading.
