Valencia Hopkins is a senior at Barnard College of Columbia University. She has a passion for science that has undoubtedly influenced her future career as a forensic pathologist. She is currently a member of the Liao Lab at the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and the Aging Brain where she researches how lysosomal dysfunction can be observed during the progression of neurodegenerative disorders. Aside from STEM, Valencia is passionate about music. She loves to sing, play the violin, and considers herself an amateur producer after taking her first digital music production class recently that allowed her to learn the ropes of music production. During her free time, Valencia loves to read, cook, watch DIY and organization videos, and spend time with her family and especially her mini poodle, RJ.
