Dr. Apurva Chandalia is the Nonclinical independent consultant. She is responsible for designing and managing nonclinical studies that are required for the successful development of new drug candidates. These include pharmacokinetic, general pharmacology, toxicology, and safety pharmacology studies. She has nearly 13 years of experience as a drug developer and 8+ years as a toxicologist. She earned her PhD in Neurobiology from India. She then moved to California, continuing work in the pharmaceutical industry, first at Cymabay (small molecule for metabolic diseases) in Hayward, Boehringer Ingelheim in Fremont, Dynavax Inc. in Berkeley and Applied Molecular Transport (fusion protein, orally deliver for IBD) in San Francisco. Apurva has been an active member of the SOT and ACT.
