Omar Gonzalez is a first-generation Mexican American student attending San Diego State University. His major is Public Health, and he is currently in his senior year. Next year, he would like to apply to a master's or PhD program. He was born and raised in Orange County, California. His interest in toxicology began when one of his professors introduced the concept in class. He was eager to learn more, so he attended the SOT meeting for 2024 as an undergrad diversity student recipient. It was truly a blessing to meet new people and see how much they loved their work and research. He is interested in the field of neuro-toxicology and environmental toxicology. The complexity of the field of toxicology makes him want to learn more to see what he can do in the future.
