Bio

Dr. Xue is an Associate Professor at University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, where he is investigating the mechanisms whereby micronutrients and toxic exposures impact gastrointestinal diseases. He received his doctorate in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010 and was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Michigan from 2010-2015. Dr. Xue has been invited to serve as an ad hoc grant reviewer many times for domestic agencies including NIH, AHA, NSF and DOD, and international organizations from New Zealand, Czech Republic, Germany, UK, Poland, Italy, France, and EU. He has published over 60 papers in journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine, Nature Metabolism, Nature Communications, Cell Metabolism, Gastroenterology, Science Advances, Cell Death and Differentiation, PNAS, Cancer Research, Elife, Toxicological Sciences, Toxicology Letters, Toxicology, and Toxicology Applied Pharmacology. He has been a member of the SOT since 2022 and has served the SOT in the following capacities: Toxicology Mentoring and Skills Development Training (ToxMSDT) E-Learning Module Development Team (Biochemistry) and as a mentor. He has also been invited to give a “Tiny Tox Talk “entitled “A Peek at Faculty Position Interview” at the 2023 SOT Annual meeting.
