Dr. Pamela Lein Honored with 2022 Mentoring Award

UC Davis consortium member Dr. Pamela Lein was recently awarded the 2022 Mentoring Award by the Women in Toxicology Specialty Interest Group of the Society of Toxicology

Mentee received the Society of Toxicology "Perry J. Gehring Diversity Student Travel Award"

We are very excited to announce that the Society of Toxicology Committee on Diversity Initiatives selected ToxMSDT mentee Midori Flores to receive this award recognizing an undergraduate or graduate student who was previously selected to participate in the SOT Undergraduate Diversity Program and who is from a racial/ethnic group underrepresented in toxicology AND who is presenting a poster the SOT Annual Meeting.

Mentee received the 2022 Dermal Personal Care Student and Postdoc Award

Congratulations to one of our mentees Gisselle Soberanes Rodriguez who in a collaborative research work with Professor Madhumita Das and Professor Jayanta Kumar Das's research group received the prestigious award. The title of the poster is "Toxic Effects of Cosmetic Products through Epigenetic Reprogramming of Dermal Stem Cells" and will be presented at the Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting Poster Session on Wednesday, March 3

First student from from the University of Louisville selected into ToxMSDT program

Lily Hoang from the University of Louisville was one of 25 undergraduate students competitively selected from across the country to the Toxicology Mentoring and Skills Development Training Program (ToxMSDT). Lily is the first student ever to have been selected to participate in ToxMSDT from the University of Louisville. She is being mentored by Marquea King, Director of the Office of Scientific Quality Review (OSQR) at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS).

First MSU student accepted into national toxicology program

Emory Hoelscher-Hull, a junior in Montana State University’s environmental health program became the first MSU student to be selected for a national toxicology mentorship program last month. and was one of 25 undergraduate students nationwide selected for the Toxicology Mentoring and Skills Development Training Program. The program is funded by the National Institutes of Health and pairs students with professional mentors at academic institutions and regulatory bodies who study and practice toxicology.

Water Quality Association News

The Water Quality Association's Toxicology Manager Kristin Licko is serving as volunteer mentor in the Toxicology Mentoring and Skills Development Training Program 2021-22. 

Licko has worked for WQA for more than 10 years and is a voting member of two Joint Committees that develop and maintain drinking water industry standards: the Joint Committee on Drinking Water Additives-System Components and the Joint Committee on Drink Water Additives-Treatment Chemicals.
